Thank you once again for a great bit-sized game, James! Your wonderful use of colors, shaders and environment always manage to make a wonderful, cozy and peaceful experience.

Feedback after my 15ish minutes of gameplay:

  • Unfortunately I didn't manage to finish the game, as I get perpetually stuck in a "hole" between rock assets where PC was probably always falling and couldn't manage to jump or more anywhere. That was near the batch of purple flowers on the rock ledge. Respawning did nothing, I guess my respawn point was the exact location.
  • Finding the first 90% of the stuff was fun and relaxing, the next 5% was bit of a stretch as the environment was bit monotonous and not easy to "scan & sweep" the area effectively. ANd the very last 4 pieces of trash was impossible to the aforementioned stuck bug.
  • The different types of trash feel redundant. You could make them visually or otherwise more distinct (plastic floats and moves around where heavier trash sink down) or simply combine them into one pile.
  • If you would want to make the experience relaxing all the way through, I'd suggest one of some of these fixes:
    • Make the 100% cleanup optional, and let the player leave with good conciense aroub 80% completion rate, and reward extra for 90% and 100% completion rates.
    • Make the trash stand out even more, when everything is oversaturated and lush, it's near impossible to spot them trash, especially outside of water.
    • Give the player a "scanner", which temporarily dims the colors of vegetation & sky and highlights the trash nearby. Kinda like on No Man's Sky.
    • Optional 3rd person view would make it easier, as the higher camera angle would make player less lost in the vegetation.

Nevertheless, this made me wanna go and pick up some trash from the local strip of forest asap! ♻️💚🌍 Keep up the grand work, mate!

Thank you for playing and thank you for leaving really considered suggestions.

Firstly, without changing anything from this Gam Jam version of the game, I have fixed the getting stuck issue and rejigged the respawn. After the jam I can put out an alternative version.

Thanks for pointing out the getting stuck spot. Thank you for your generous compliments regarding colour and environment. Cozy and peaceful is exactly the feeling I'm aiming for.

I totally get the 100% optional clean up and I could offer an 80% version after the Jam. Similarly, I will take a look at the collectables in general and as you say, stick to floating or sinking/heavy rubbish. Good ideas. After the event, I can also take a look at the visibility of the above the water collectables. All great feedback.

Thank you so much again for playing and leaving your comments. Much appreciated.
James
